What a Day!

It started off innocently enough. Got the kids off to school just fine. Then, my 10 am conference call was a little off, had to go to a different conference number. I told him I had to cut out early to get my boy to the doctor's office by 11 am. He mentioned that I had to send the laptop back TODAY because the contract is ending tomorrow. I asked for the snail mail address, he emailed it. Well, I had to get it from him over the phone because it still hadn't come in the mail by the time I had to go.

Called the doctor's office, the appointment was moved to 11:45 so I had enough time to drop off the laptop. I stopped at the little place by the coffee place, they said it would be $30 packaging and about $150 for overnight shipping. ! I didn't send it because I was going to check at the other place by Publix. Then Chris called, he was sick in the nurses office. I went to pick him up, then swung by the other place and sent the laptop. It was $188 for overnight!! I'm in the wrong business...

So, on to pick up Jean-Luc for his doctor's appointment. I stopped by the pick up place, she had left it in the front office. I went to the front office, they said back to the pick up place. I said, can you just call for him, and I'll just sign the sheet on the way out. Got Jean-Luc and got him signed out.

Got to the doctor's office at 11:30. Sat in the front room for an hour (watching Fly Away Home, good movie), then when the movie gets really good, into the smaller examination room for 30 minutes. Saw the doctor, Jean-Luc's foot is not broken, but he'll have to stay off of it for about a week.

After the doctor's office, stopped by Wendy's because the boys were starving. Just as we pulled into the parking lot, my boss called me. He wanted to chat about what I was doing since the contract was ending. We talked for a bit, then went in and ordered lunch. As we were leaving, I realized I locked the keys in the van. AAAAARGH!!! Hadn't done that in about 20 years. Darn phone call with my boss! *sigh* Called AAA, they sent a locksmith who opened the door in about 3 minutes. Just in time for my 2 pm conference call. Jean-Luc reminded me that he left his Spanish workbook back at the doctor's office. AAAAARGH!! *sigh* Was on the phone, went by the doctor's office for the spanish book, and headed home.

Finished the conference call around 3pm. Got stuff together for dinner, going to make Potato Leek soup. Heading out the door to pick up Anton at the bus stop when he calls me to remind me that he's going bowling. AAAARGH!! I forgot to give him money this morning. He assures me he has some. From where, I don't know. Found some in his backpack and some from his friends. Remember, pay them back tomorrow.

What a day so far, still not over...
