Morning coffee in my Washington DC mug in honor of the Nationals who won the World Series! Yay Nationals!!

The Storm Gray had a tournament in Greenville, SC this week. Anton couldn't make it until Friday because he had a final exam for his last class for his Associate's degree. I flew in from New Orleans, but that's another story... Anyways, his Storm team had already lost two games before we got there. He had two games on Friday.
After my DC trip, I stayed the weekend to see Anton. He had two games on Saturday, and I was hoping that he would play. He did not. And SVU lost both games. Sad.
They played in Vero Beach over the Independence Day holiday. Anton's team won two and lost 3, so they weren't in the playoffs. Anton pitched in one game on the Fourth of July. He did pretty good. He pitched two innings, and then the game was forfeited by the other team because apparently their batter made a questionable gesture and the umpire threw him out of the game, then their coach forfeited. Weird.
Anton has played in a few tournaments already. The photos are from last week when we went to North Charleston. They won two games, tied one, and lost one. Didn't get into the Championships though. Anton pitched four innings in one game.
This week, Anton and Bill are in Alpharetta, GA just outside of Atlanta. It's the East Cobb tournament. Doing pretty well so far. In the first game, Anton was the starting pitcher. He pitched 5 innings and had 1 run, 4 walks, 4 strikeouts all looking, and 1 error. They won, 5-2. They lost the second game, 6-3. And won the third game, 2-1. Now they're in the playoffs against the other NFS team.![]() |

Anton played a game against Viera 1 last night. They won, 7-6, in a hard fought battle. Viera got the first two runs, then MISLL came back to score 4 runs in the third inning. Viera scored 4 runs in the fifth inning to go ahead by 2, then MISLL scored 3 runs in the bottom of the sixth to go ahead by 1. Viera couldn't score in the top of the seventh, so MISLL won!
Anton's team won their game against a tough opponent (South Beach), 12-9. South Beach started off strong and got up 6 runs in the first inning, but Island Motor Sports played slow and steady and scored a few runs each inning to overcome and win.
