Marilynn and the Show

On the way back home, we decided to stop in to stay with Marilynn for the night.  We had dinner at the Riverfront Bistro and then saw a show, "Sister Act".  Fun!

Driving in the Virginia Mountains

We spent some time after getting Anton moved in driving around the mountains.  We did part of the Blue Ridge Parkway, which was beautiful!  We got lost for a bit.  And we stopped in at the Veritas Winery.  Very nice.

Taking the Boy to College

We took Anton up to Southern Virginia University this week/end.  It was beautiful up in the mountains of Virginia.  We met his roomate, Cody, who seemed like a nice boy.  Also on the baseball team.  We went to Walmart about 4 times to get stuff for Anton.  But in the end, he's moved in.  He seems to like it!

Also, Jean-Luc got moved back in at UCF.

Movies

Saw Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation today with Bill.  Loved it!  Tom Cruise does make a good movie.  Don't care for him personally, but he's pretty good in this role.  And I adore Simon Pegg, and he was fabulous!  Nice to see Ving Rhames and Jeremy Renner.  And even Alec Baldwin was good.  The plot was believable, given the context of the movie.  And there was some humor as well.

Work Project Beach Party Wrap-up

Sudhakar, Maureen, Rae, Kimberly, Shawn, Udaya, Me, Arno, and Jeevan
Not pictured: Arun, Joe, Neelima, Hana
After 10 months, the work is done.  Bittersweet to be leaving these people and this project, PSEGLI Data Mart Migration.  We worked the entire time in a conference room.  There were ups and downs, but everyone worked well together.  We accomplished the mission with minimal issues, so it was a job well done.  Hope to work with them again!
Some of us went to see Penn and Teller the night before, great show!  Then we spent the night on the town.
And finally, the beach party.  Beautiful day!  And Hana joined us. :)

Movies

Saw Ant-Man yesterday and Fantastic Four tonite. Both were great movies, but I think I liked Ant-Man just a little bit better.

Ant-Man had humor and a pretty good plot.  And it's part of the Marvel universe with scenes in and after the credits.  The guy who played Ant-Man was great, and they also had Evangeline Lilly from Lost as the female lead.  And of course Michael Douglas as the brilliant dad.

The Fantastic Four was also a Marvel movie, but it was made by Sony.  It did not have any extra scenes, and several people in the audience were pretty verbal about that after the watching the credits.  There wasn't much humor, but it was still a pretty good movie.  The plot hung together (if you can get past the fantastic part).  I think there will be more.

Back in New York

*sigh* Back in New York.  Traffic sucks! It's Sunday afternoon, and I'm inching along the Northern State Parkway at 15 mph.

And then I had dinner with Kimberly K at Hudson's on the Nautical Mile.

Gaufest - Day 4

Saturday was all Gaufest. First we met Karen for breakfast. Then we went to watch the club competitions. Then lunch at Build a Burger with Belá and Ethan.  Then to the couples competition. We saw Emily N. And her partner.

Then the kid's competition with Isabel, Ruthie, and Annemarie. So cute! Next was the Mass ceremony.  And after was the huge dinner and farewell.  The next Gaufest will be in two years in Buffalo, NY.
