Homecoming Dance

Anton went to the Homecoming Dance last night.  His "date" was Ben D., one of his Fall Ball teammates.  I was a chaperon. It looked like Anton and Ben had a good time!

Children of the Corn

Went to the corn maze yesterday.  We took my sister Monica and her daughter Julie-ana, Jean-Luc's girlfriend Sarah, and the boys' friends Christian and Connor.  We had a lot of fun!  Monica, Julie-ana, Bill, and I went together and the others went in a group.  We went through the big corn maze (although the corn was not so tall as it was early in the growing season), the tree maze, and then stopped for lemonade and fresh corn on the cob.

MISLL Baseball

MISLL Red had a game last night, they won 10-6.  No photos sadly.

Anton - He played catcher for two innings, left field and third base.  On the very first play, Anton threw down to second base and caught the runner stealing.  At the plate, he was 2 for 4 with a single to the gap between left and center, a double to left field, a reached on error, and a putout.  He also got an RBI.

Chris - He was a utility player!  He played left field, second base, and catcher when Gregory hurt his thumb. At the plate, he was 1 for 2 with a single over the shortstop's head, a strikeout, and a walk.

Homecoming Flag Football Game

Anton played in the Homecoming Game.  It was a flag football game between the red and black teams.  Anton only played in about half the game, and he touched the ball defensively only once.  But, he says he had a really good time.

MISLL Baseball

The MISLL Red Team had a game against the Gold Team yesterday, and Anton went up to Jacksonville to play with his travel ball team in a double header against a high school.

Chris - They stomped on us, the final score was 17-2, Gold. The Red team only had six players, our outfielders was the Gold team! He played the first three innings as catcher. Then he moved to first base, then the fifth and final inning as pitcher. As the first baseman, he got the ball from the third baseman to make the final out of the side. Then as pitcher, he only threw 7 pitches to 3 players. The defense made the three outs, boom, boom, boom. At the plate, no good luck. He was 0 for 3 with an reached on error, an infield fly, and a putout.

Anton - In the first game, they lost 2-1, the second game they won by a lot. Anton pitched the first three innings giving up 1 run. He went 1-2, with a strike out and a single. He sat the bench the rest of the game. In the next game, he played left field the entire game and caught 4 fly balls. He was 1 for 3 with a single with 2 RBIs, a fly out, and a line out.

MISLL Baseball

Had a game last night, too dark for photos.

Anton:  For fielding, he had 1 assist and 5 putouts.  He played catcher, left field, pitcher, first base, and second base.  As catcher, he played 3 innings and had one passed ball.  In the first inning as catcher, he part of a double play to end the inning.  The right fielder caught the ball, then threw the ball to home plate where Anton caught it and tagged the runner sliding into home.  On the mound, he had both great and awful innings.  In the fifth inning, he pitched 3 up, 3 down.  In the sixth, he  hit the first batter and another later, then had a tough time.  They scored 5 runs, thankfully that's the limit in Fall Ball.  And in the final inning at first base, he caught a fly ball and had the shortstop send him one for two outs.  Then he moved to second base where he caught a fly ball to end the side.  At the plate, he was 0 for 4 with a reached on error and a hit by pitch (which also got him an RBI as the bases were loaded).

Chris:  For fielding, he played center field then went in as catcher in the fourth inning.  He fed the ball to the shortstop for an assist.  As catcher, he had 4 passed balls and 3 stolen bases (to be fair, he was catching for Anton who can throw pretty fast).  At the plate, he was 0 for 3 getting putout every time.  He was hitting nice fly balls, but they were caught every time.  First to the pitcher, then the center fielder, then a short one over the first baseman's head to right field where they were playing to the right and way short.  Tough break kid!!
