Spent the weekend on the Outer Banks in Duck, North Carolina. My company had a big party for everyone within driving distance. It's a little further than driving distance for us, but we went anyways.
We got there Friday afternoon, right at 2:30. As we pulled into the Sanderling, I was telling Bill, "Stop, stop! Let me out!" The kickoff meeting was just about to start. Heard all about how the company did the last year (good) and what the plans were for the next year. Then off to find my family who had taken advantage of the pool. The evening dinner was quite nice, they gave out a lot of awards.

The next morning, breakfast was provided. Trotman and Amy invited us out on their boat to go tubing. The sound was pretty shallow, so we had to out pretty far to get to deeper water. Chris, Jean-Luc, and Bill took to the tube (only two at a time), and they had a blast!
Afterwards, the company had a clambake beach party planned. It was pretty fun, the boys enjoyed playing out in the ocean. The water was ice cold! We didn't stay too long because it was so hot out on the beach.

Then we drove up to the Currituck Beach Light Station. It's a lighthouse with 214 steps, about 160 feet straight up. Anton and I went to the top. Him much quicker than me... I had to stop and rest, frequently. And once at the top, I pretty much hugged the tower. It was way too scary at the edge!

For dinner, we drove back down to Roanoake to Five Guys. Pretty good burgers! And it was a nice scenic trip back to the hotel.
