Later. So we bought a new refrigerator last night from Home Depot, a GE. Hoping it lasts a little bit longer than this crappy #LG. The Home Depot guy gave me a number to call for LG to see if they'll fix it. If that happens, it will become the garage fridge. Otherwise, trash dump for sure.
Even later. I did finally get ahold of someone at LG. They were nice but firm on needing a receipt. We can’t find it, but she went through taking our info and the fridge info and told us to find the receipt before the got there to fix it. She later called me back and said they would cover parts and labor. The fridge was manufactured in 2017, four years ago! The sealed system is covered for 5 years, compressor for 10. Then she looks to get it scheduled, and they’re completely booked for 2 weeks, got referred to an authorized repair company. Well, this will now be the garage fridge. 🤣
Gah. A few weeks later. Still no refrigerator yet. So the new one was delivered but not installed or even set up. He put it in the garage with all the protective paper on it because, this is what my son told me, he threw up his arms and said, "There's not a water line cutoff valve by the refrigerator!", and left. There is a cut off under the sink, but that's "too far away". So I had to call a plumber, thanks Roper Plumbing, to install a $4 cutoff switch on the line. They didn't even charge me! So had to call back to the place for the installation, she said maybe on Saturday. Ugh. Meanwhile, I got an email from LG saying that they received the work order to order the part I need. Lord knows when that will actually get ordered and come in.
Another week. (July 24) FINALLY have the new fridge installed. $777 later, there’s stuff in there.
And another week later. LG FINALLY came to repair the LG garage fridge. For free. He said there's a lot of these failing right now. But, it's working!!
