Jean-Luc to Tahoe and a Movie

Got Jean-Luc off to Tahoe early this morning.  He's going to be skiing with his girlfriend and her family for the next week.

Then, went to see The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.  It was looooong.  Pretty good, but they kind of dragged things out a bit.

Sea World

Went to Sea World!  Met Frank, Monica's fiance.  Nice guy.  Julie's friend Jason got us in with half price tickets, we bought lunch.  Saw the sea lion and otter show, the dolphin show, a wonderful Christmas show, and Shamu.  Around 6pm it started raining. :(  But, we still had a nice time.

Then, had a White Elephant Christmas present exchange. I ended up with a Dreamcatcher and two small Photo Books.

Grandma's House

Chris and the Christmas cookies
Grandma
Anton, Chris, and I came to Grandma's house before Bill and Jean-Luc this year.  Jean-Luc had to work this weekend, so he and Bill will be driving up on Sunday.  Joan and I went shopping today, and I got my new camera!!  A Nikon D7000, they didn't have any D90s :(.

Anyway, here's a few pics from today.

North Florida Storm Baseball

Talking about Anton's tournament this past weekend.  Again, I wasn't there, so no photos.

Sat, Game 1: They lost, 10-6.  Anton pitched the first two innings.  He threw 61 pitches to 15 batters with 2 walks, 1 strikeout, 6 hits, and allowed 6 runs.  And, he balked allowing one of the runners to advance a base.  Not very good.  During those two innings, he had one assist and caught a pop fly.

Sat, Game 2: They won, 6-4.  Anton was a designated hitter for the first two innings.  He hit a line out to first base.

Sun, Game 1: They won, 8-7 with extra innings.  Anton played right field the whole game.  He was 4 for 4 at the plate with a strikeout, a putout, and two singles.  The first single was a little dinker that he legged out, and the second was a walk off hit down the center with an RBI to win the game.

Sun, Game 2: They lost, 7-6 with extra innings.  Anton again played right field the whole game.  He was 3-3 with a strikeout and 2 putouts.

Lacrosse

So Chris has been going to a Lacrosse clinic for the last three weekends.  So far, he's loving it!  Doesn't know much about the game or positions or even handing the ball, but he's wanting to do more.  So I bought him a stick and a ball.  Here's some (lame) pictures I took with my not so good very small camera.  I'm hoping to get my camera back from the shop one of these days...

Atlas 5 Launch

Not so good photo of the Atlas 5 launch.  It's on my iPhone as my "good" camera is on the way to the shop. Again.

From SpaceFlightNow: The United Launch Alliance Atlas 5 rocket (AV-034) deployed the U.S. military's X-37B, a prototype spaceplane also called the Orbital Test Vehicle, on the program's third mission. The rocket flew in the 501 vehicle configuration with a five-meter fairing, no solid rocket boosters and a single-engine Centaur upper stage. Moved up from Oct. 26. Delayed from Oct. 25, Oct. 30, Nov. 13 and Nov. 27.

North Florida Storm Baseball

Anton had another tournament yesterday.  I wasn't there, so no pictures.  I am using a picture from Bill C. of them after they won it all!

Sat, Game 1:  Won this game, 11-5.  Anton was a Designated Hitter.  He had 3 at bats.  First was a putout, then a strike out.  Finally, he hit a bunt, beat it out at first base, and finally scored a run!

Sat, Game 2:  Won this game, 5-4.  Anton started the game as a Designated Hitter, then changed to pitcher, finally moved to right field.  He was 2 for 3 at the plate with a single over the third baseman's head and a sacrifice bunt.  As pitcher, he went 3.2 innings and threw 65 pitches to 17 batters with 1 walk, 4 hits, and 3 strikeouts while giving up 1 run.  Great job!  And while he was pitcher, he assisted on one out.

Sun, Game 3:  Won this game, 7-4.  He played left field the whole game, no action in the field.  At the plate, he was 1 for 3 with 2 walks and a strikeout.

Sun, Game 4:  Won this game, 3-1.  Again in left field, no action.  At bat, he was 2 for 2 with a put out and a very nice double out to right field which he ended up coming in for a run.

They ended up winning the whole tournament!!

North Florida Storm Baseball

Anton had a tournament this past weekend.  I didn't go, so no pictures.  Just one from Bill C. as a catcher at the end of the final game.  They did very well, until they played the Senior North Florida Storm team that is...

Sat, Game 1:  They won the game, 8-5.  Anton played left field until the final inning.  He was 0 for 2 with an error and a put out.  On the error, he had an RBI and also scored hisownself.

Sat, Game 2:  They won the game, 12-2.  They played Coach Barnes' high school team.  He played in left field the whole game which was only 3 innings (called due to time and run rule).  He was 2 for 2 at the plate with a single up the middle and a double to the center right.  The single scored an RBI, and he also scored on a passed ball.

Sun, Game 1:  They won the game, 8-4.  Anton pitched in the first inning, then moved to right field for the remainder of the game.  He had 2 put outs catching fly balls.  On the mound, he threw 29 pitches to 8 batters with 2 walks, 1 hit, and allowed 2 runs.  And at the plate, he was 1 for 3 with a single to right and 2 strikeouts.  He had an RBI on the single, and he scored a run.

Sun, Game 2:  They lost 10-2 against the Senior Storm team.  Anton started in left field, and then played catcher in the fourth and final inning.  As catcher, he allowed only 1 passed ball.  He only had one at bat which was a ground out.

Yesterday and Today

Walking early Friday morning, saw flocks and flocks of birds flying.  And that's the full moon on the left side of the picture.

And today, Chris had his very first Lacrosse clinic.  He liked it so much, he convinced me to buy a stick and a ball.  He's in the family room now, practicing...
