First Day of School at Southern Virginia University!

New Orleans

And this weekend, Chris and Marilynn came out to New Orleans for a visit. I had a great time showing them around! Friday during the day we went to the Garden District and checked out a cemetery and the huge mansions. On Friday night, we went to the Steelers vs Saints game. The Steelers won! Then on Saturday we toured the World War II Memorial Museum and the French Quarter.

Fort Worth, TX

Went to Fort Worth, Texas this weekend to visit my brother Jon. We went to the Ft Worth Water Gardens and the Stockyards. Lovely visit! My friend Marilynn was also visiting her friend Robin, so we were able to get together for a visit to the Botanical Gardens and dinner.

Got Mariah up out of bed early in the morning for a SpaceX Falcon 9 launch. Beautiful!

Babysat that sweet little niece today! She is a cutie pie!

Space Center

Anton and Mariah came back home from Oregon yesterday. We went up and visited the Space Center today. Had a great time!!

Movies

Saw Suicide Squad with most of the family after Jean-Luc and Chris' Birthday Celebration Dinner. It was ok. Just ok. I don't know what I expected, but it was not up to the DC bar. But most of the DC movies fall short of the Marvel ones. Sadly. That said, the action was there, and it starred Will Smith, and Jared Leto. Although why Jared Leto gets top billing, I don't know as he's only in about 3 minutes of the movie. It's about a bunch of the villains getting together to save the world. I just don't see it.

Birthday Dinner

We celebrated Chris and Jean-Luc's birthdays with a wonderful dinner at Longhorn's. Chris is 17 and Jean-Luc turned 21. Jean-Luc celebrated with some kind of beer.

Movies

Saw The Legend of Tarzan today with Kathy M. With Alexander Skarsgård. Yum. It was pretty good with good action and story.  And the lady that was Jane was pretty good as well.  It also had Samuel L. Jackson in it as his sidekick. He was good, but some of his lines were not really from the era.
