Julie-ana got a new car! After her old Kia Soul was totaled by a guy with no insurance, she got another one.

North Carolina Waterfall Trip - Day 9

Morning hike into Linville Falls, the final planned waterfall hike of our vacation. Just over 2.75 miles and 11 flights of stairs. Linville Caverns tour. Very pretty but creepy at the same time. There were a lot of bats. And they were very concerned about the White Nose syndrome. We had to clean our feet very carefully before entering.

Tomorrow is the trip home, we had a great time!!

North Carolina Waterfall Trip - Day 8

More waterfalls, mountain tops, and National Forest hiking today. Glassmine Falls, over 800 feet tall. Atop Mount Mitchell, the tallest peak east of the Mississippi River. Duggar Falls in the Pisgah National Forest. This fall was a little disappointing, long walk for a small meager waterfall.

North Carolina Waterfall Trip - Day 7

Toured the Biltmore today. Nearly 10k steps! Oh well, I’m tired now. Over 4 miles walking and 9 flights of stairs. The Chihuly glass was absolutely gorgeous!

North Carolina Waterfall Trip - Day 5

First selfie of the day. Back on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Grassy Ridge Mine Overlook. So pretty! We also drove through the Highest elevation on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Courthouse Falls was splendid! Did a 2 mile workout hike getting in and out. And an additional 1.5 miles (3.5 total) around the area. We also saw Looking Glass Rock seen from the Blue Ridge Parkway. And finally, Looking Glass waterfall. Outstanding! On our way to Brevard, NC to see some white squirrels!

North Carolina Waterfall Trip - Day 4

Saw some elk an the way to the wagon ride and horseback riding this morning. This guy had a nice little herd. Then there was a wagon ride in the morning. Hiked to several beautiful waterfalls like the beautiful Mingo Falls - 3.3 miles and 23 flights of stairs. Beautiful! Near Cherokee, NC. And a stunning overlook from atop the Blue Ridge Parkway at the Waterrock Knob Visitor Center.

North Carolina Waterfall Trip - Day 3

Taking a ride on this bad boy this morning. Then, white water rafting back down. We visited our next waterfall by whitewater rafting to it after we rode the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad. This is Nantahala falls. After, we had a nice outdoor dinner with Anton and Mariah who drove over to visit us.

North Carolina Waterfall Trip - Day 2

Another beautiful day! Early morning hike. Lower Glen Falls. There’s also an Upper and Middle Glen Falls. *sigh* Time to walk back up and on to Dry Falls on the US 64 roadside. Pretty! And you can walk behind this one as well. Today's walking totals: 7 waterfalls and 12000 steps with lots of stair steps. Visited the quaint town of Highlands.
