It's a beautiful week up in Virginia with all the trees changing colors.Next time I come, they'll all be gone.
It's a beautiful week up in Virginia with all the trees changing colors.
I finally got to see a game last night!! Anton has not been able to play at all because he has class on Tuesday nights, and I've been traveling. But they played Coach Kindred's team. Not sure what the score was, I stopped keeping track after 11-11...
Last night was Edgewood's Homecoming. Anton, Chris, and Matthew went. And they had a great time and even danced with a few girls!
Anton had a tournament in 'St Augustine'. I put quotes around it because it was really just outside the city limits of Jacksonville. I was under the impression that he only had two games in the morning on Saturday and was free the rest of the day. That's why we went to pick up Jean-Luc for the weekend. We were going to do the baseball tournament in the morning and tour St Augustine in the afternoon.
Anton pitched in the first game, which they won 4-2. He threw 51 pitches in 3.1 innings with 2 hits, 1 walk, 2 strikeouts, and 1 earned run with a .90 WHIP score.
At this point, we found out that we had a game in the evening. *sigh* So we went to a movie, Machete Kills, and then came back. I liked Machete Kills. It was a nice sequel to the first movie, and of course Danny Trejo was great. They had a lot of star power in the movie: Mel Gibson, Lady Gaga, Cuba Gooding Jr, Antonio Banderas, and the list goes on. Anyways, I took Chris and Jean-Luc back to the hotel and stopped for pizza for dinner. I then went back to the game where the North Florida Storm were having the game of their life! Rhett W. was pitching, and he got 15 strikeouts! And then he hit a Grand Slam!! Holy Cow! They ended up winning, 8-0.
Then we had a final game in the morning. Which we lost, 3-4. I'm kind of glad because we had Jean-Luc with us and I wanted to spend some time with him and Anton didn't play at all. So we went down to Harry's in St Augustine for lunch. It was yummy! And Jean-Luc was very cute, so it all turned out well. Then we had to take him back to UNF and head home.
We went to Anton's baseball tournament in Jacksonville yesterday, just the two games. Even though the tournament is Friday to Sunday. Friday, they lost. Yesterday, they lost one and won one. Anton played in the second game. He batted once. He got a hit, and he scored! They won 10-0. And sadly, I heard today they lost. So they are done.

Anton had a tournament in Ft Myers last weekend. They played three games over two days.
They tied this game, 0-0. On the first day, Anton pitched in the second half of the game. He pitched 3 innings and threw 52 pitches with 3 strikeouts and allowing 2 hits and 3 walks. 27 of the pitches he threw were strikes, and 5 of those were first pitch strikes. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Anton threw it to the third baseman and caught the runner stealing.
On the second day, they played two games. They won this game, 9-2. He sat out the second game. They lost this game, 1-9. And in the third, he was able to get up to bat in the final inning. He was walked and got to second base before the inning was over.
