Flag Football begins

Had our first Flag Football practice.  Chris and Anton are on Coach Nick Kindred's team this year.  We had most of the boys on the team at practice, I think we were missing one.  We're just doing one practice a week for a while.

Movies

Saw Puss in Boots today.  Loved it!!  Antonio Banderas has a wonderful voice, and Salma Hayek was very good too.  I think it was a prequel to the Shrek movies.

On the way to the theater, a lizard caught a ride.  He was holding on for dear life!

Saw Game 7 of the World Series last night. Or, more aptly, started watching it and fell asleep. The Rangers started off strong in the first inning scoring 2 runs and looking all confident. Then, they questionably walked two players, then the third had a nice hit and the two players scored. Then it went all downhill from there pitching-wise. Sadly, the Rangers did not get another run while the Cardinals widened the lead to 5 runs. I was asleep by then...

Saw Little Shop of Horrors at the Cocoa Village Playhouse on Sunday.  Took the boys and Tesla.  They thought it was pretty good!

Homecoming

Anton and Tesla and her friend Sam went to the Homecoming Dance on Saturday evening.  I was a chaperone.  They looked divine!!  And they had so much fun!

Jean-Luc also went with his friends: Cole, Peyton, Carter, Joey, Richie, and Jake.  He had a less than stellar evening.  First off, he wouldn't let me buy anything nice for him to wear.  Second, his friend Jake got kicked out for wearing jeans.  Third, most of them left with Jake and went to Cole's house (and his parents weren't home).  Finally, after talking with the assistant principal, Jean-Luc was allowed to come back to the party.  There's so much more to this story, but I'm gonna leave it at that.

Weekend

The boys had baseball games yesterday.  Tesla, Anton's girlfriend, came to watch.  Anton's team played great, but they lost by one run!  Chris' team also played great!  They won by two runs!  Pictures:

Then we went to Red Lobster for dinner, then the Planetarium Halloween show.  What a long day!

Then Sunday we got up and went to church.  After that, we played golf at the Cocoa Beach Golf Club.  Only 9 holes cause Bill wanted to get back to see the Steelers game.  They were ahead and won in the last few seconds.  I played terrible!

Dinner with some old Woomera friends

Had dinner with some old friends from Woomera last night. Tammy and her husband were in town staying with the Voglers (Bob and Laura). Also, Brian (the chaplain) and Lynn Hunter were there. Rembert was going to come, but ended up not because his brother was driving down.

Bob was barbequeing some delicious kabobs.  It started POURING down RAIN!!  I checked the radar, and the only storm on the entire page was in this neighborhood...  Anyways, the food was delicious and the company was great!

Stuck around the house

We were totally rained out this weekend, no baseball.  Boy, did I wish we were at baseball!! 

First, a tropical wave formed over us and pounded us with rain, about 4 to 6 inches in two days with a 30 mph wind.  And it's still raining.  Fortunately for us, we found out we have a leak in the roof!!  Not.  It's leaking through down to that spot (much bigger than what the photo shows) at the upper right, then coming down into the dropped ceiling and leaking out just to the right of the corner where the lights are hung.  Roofer is coming today to take a look, provided the weather cooperates.

Next, went to get a new dishwasher since we had time to spare.  Our old one is just swishing the dirty food around.  Had it fixed about a year ago and it worked ok.  Now, I think it's time.  It's close to eight years old, after it's planned obsolescence period.  So we went to Sears.  I wasn't going to get the same brand, I wanted Whirlpool (which is what the stove and fridge are).  But, we ended up buying another Kenmore Elite after all.  Ouch!!
