Washington DC

This week in Washington DC. Rain. And more Rain. And even MORE RAIN!

Taking a short cut through Chinatown to pick up my laptop after having it upgraded to Windows 7.

The mono-wiper Yaris on the rainy drive to Bill H. house for dinner.

And after dinner, the flooded parking garage at the Residence Inn. sigh. Had to park at the next building over above ground.

Movies

We saw Noah the other day.  It was a fair movie that sort of followed the bible.  They took some liberties with the action, I thought that took away from the movie.  But Russell Crowe (not my favorite actor) was ok and the action was good.

Anton's New Car!

Got Anton a new car today.  A 2014 Toyota Corolla.  We were going to get Bill a new Prius, but the Corolla was the less expensive option.  Of course, on the way over to Orlando to get the new car, Bill and I both realized that neither one of us had brought a check.  *sigh*  So, we called Jean-Luc to bring the checkbook, but it turned out that Anton was done with his AP Practice test and ended up bringing it.  Chris let it "slip" that Anton was getting a Yaris.  And I said it was orange.  Imagine his surprise when he actually saw what he was getting!  I won't mention the detour onto the turnpike incident...

MISLL Sr Baseball

Had fun at Anton's game last night, the Mills went and watched too.  Sadly, Anton's team lost, 3-0.  Anton did a great job pitching, but they just weren't hitting.  They got to bases loaded and two on base, but just didn't get them in.

Anton pitched for 6.1 innings and threw 101 pitches with 5 strikeouts and allowed 3 walks, 2 hits, and 3 runs.  For fielding, he had 2 assists and 2 put outs.  And at the plate he was 0 for 4.  :(  Not a good hitting night!

Easter

Had Easter dinner with my sister Monica and her family (Frank and Julie-ana).  Had a great time!!  Then we played Apples to Apples and Catan.

Movies

Saw Oculus yesterday with my sister Julie.  Her and Monica also love horror movies.  Oculus was ok, kind of scary, but not really great.  My sister said to save your money, but she would have watched it on TV or Netflix.  It had the girl that played Amy Pond from Dr Who.  I thought she was good, and so was they guy that played her brother.  Katee Sackhoff from Battlestar Galactica was also in it.  She was the mother, but it was kind of a drab role for her.  Anyways, overall I give it a C+.

He had 4 assists throwing the ball to first base for outs. And at the plate, he was 1 for 2 with a hit to the far right field with an RBI, a reached on error, and a walk. It was a great game!

Hanging Out

The boys hung out with some other members of the Edgewood Lacrosse team.  The season was ended yesterday, so it's nice that they can keep together afterwards.

The End of the Van

We junked it.  >>sniff<<  It has been a pretty darn good van through the past eleven years.  Threw a rod through the oil pan the other day.  The guy at Auto Pros gave us $400 to scrap it.  Now, to buy a new car in the next week.  I think we're getting another Prius!

The boys had their final lacrosse game of the season against Eau Gallie.  And they won, 8-4!!  Anton and Chris played defense as usual.  They went to a bonfire after the game to celebrate.

Flying home

Earlier this evening, taking off over the Potomac River. Now for the long drive home. — at Orlando International Airport.

MISLL Sr Baseball

Anton had a pretty good game on Sat, 4/5. And his team won against Viera, 9-4! They had a great first inning, scoring 8 runs. They scored one more run in the second inning. They kept the runs by Viera to one in each of the final four innings.  Anton pitched 5 innings throwing 89 pitches and 2 strikeouts with 3 balls, 6 hits, and three runs. At the plate, he got one hit with an RBI, a strikeout, and a putout.  In the final two innings, he played first base and made a put out there.
They also played Eau Gallie on 4/10. They lost that game, 11-5. They scored two runs early on, but Eau Gallie came back strong in the final two innings scoring 10 runs. On the mound, he threw 58 pitches in 4 innings with 5 strikeouts an 3 walks, 1 hit, and 2 runs. At bat, he was 2 for 4 with 2 singles (one to left field, one to center), a fielder's choice, and a put out.

Cherry Blossoms in Washington, DC

Kim K. and I went to see the Cherry Blossoms around the Tidal Basin in Washington, DC. Beautiful!!  Afterwards, we went to the Phillips Seafood restaurant on the Wharf for dinner.

Movies

We saw Captain America: The Winter Soldier yesterday. Fantastic movie!  Fits nicely in the Marvel movie series.  Lots of great action, lots of great drama, and Steve Rogers is such a cutie!

The Boy

Just a quick shot of the boy sent on Snapchat.  What a cutie!!

Edgewood LAX

They finally lost to Viera: 11-6.  It was a great game, but Viera was just too strong a team.  They were aggressive, they got most of the penalties.  But they also scored a bunch of goals.  Anton played nearly the whole game, Chris played about half.  Both on defense.
